Founded by Alejandro Vigil, Catena's winemaker, and Adriana Catena, El Enemigo is a young Argentine winery that has achieved immediate success. The winery produces small batches of approachable and highly expressive wines from the diverse terroirs of Mendoza. The winery's vineyards are primarily located in the Uco Valley wine region, where the altitude and cool climate guarantee the production of grapes, and consequently, wines, of high quality and excellent complexity.
The Chenin Blanc grapes come from vines approximately 50 years old, pergola-trained on soils composed of calcium carbonate and red clay, located in Los Arboles. After fermentation with wild yeasts, the wine is racked into temperature-controlled steel tanks. Finally, it is bottled without added flavorings or filtration, to ensure the full expression of the grape variety.

The wine has a youthful and fresh aromatic profile, with intense fruity notes and some floral nuances. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and has a lively acidity. It is fruity, dry, and smooth, with a moderate but well-balanced alcohol content. It has a long finish with a salty touch, making it perfect with pork, especially when served with apple sauce, and with fish and seafood.
