ORGANIC WINE

STOPPER: certified cork, suitable for aging.

MEANING OF THE NAME: Renarie in local vernacular, classifies a specific type of soil characteristic of our vineyards, a mix of sand, clay and gravel, what we call “renella” and which favors draining, aerated and mineral soils.

GRAPE VARIETY: 80% Montepulciano, 20% Sangiovese

LOCATION: Montefiore dell'Aso (AP)

ALTITUDE: 250/300m above sea level

ALCOHOL: 14.50% (variable by vintage)

COLOR: ruby red with intense purple reflections

HARVEST

Grapes are hand-picked, placed in small containers, and immediately transported to the cellar to be processed. The harvest takes place early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the hot hours. During the harvest, dry ice is used to inertize the grapes from oxygen and to lower their temperature.

FERMENTATION
The must is first cold decanted to have its maximum cleanliness. Once the must has clarified, fermentation begins.
Fermentation occurs with selected yeasts in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of about 10-12°, for about 20 days. Once fermentation is finished, the cloudy wine is placed in perfectly clean tanks to clarify.

The wine is removed from the heavy fermentation lees and left on the fine lees. The refinement takes place in steel with continuous “remuage” of the product to extract positive properties from the fine lees.

During February the wine is clarified, filtered and bottled.

It is released on the market in March following the harvest.
